The State of Tennessee requires all servers and bartenders who serve alcohol to attend an approved responsible alcohol program to receive a State issued Alcohol Beverage Commission server permit. This permit is good for 5 years.

The requirements to receive this permit besides attending the 5 hour responsible alcohol program is; you must be 18 years of age to serve alcohol as a server or a bartender in the State of Tennessee and you can not have any felonies in the last four years or certain felonies in the last 8 years. We have offered many programs over the years such as the TIPS Server Training Program and the Barcode program, but we feel that the ServSafe Program by the National Restaurant Association is the best. This is the only program recognized by the National Restaurant Association and it will look good on your resume no matter where you might relocate or travel.

The National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF) developed the ServSafe Alcohol Program to raise the bar in responsible alcohol service training and certification. ServSafe Alcohol is today's real-world training solution, with practical knowledge and best-in-class resources that help to prepare and protect every operation every day. We and the NRAEF want to protect you as a server or a bartender when you're dispensing alcohol.

We offer the Server Safe program several times a month. Please click herefor dates and times of our upcoming classes. The cost is only $65.00 - call (865) 693-6609 to reserve a spot in one of our upcoming classes. The $65.00 fee not only covers your 5 hour class, but we also notarized your state application for free. Once you are notified that you have passed the certification quiz, basically you take $20.00 and your application to the local Alcoholic Beverage Commission office or send it in to them and they will type up your ABC Server Permit Card which is good for 5 years. Our instructors make it easy for you and will give you good directions to the ABC office.

The classes are held on Sundays from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. We also hold ABC Server Permit classes in the afternoon and evening throughout the month too. Our classes do fill up quickly so contact us as soon as possible to save your spot in our class. We do accept walk ups on the day of the class but they are based on availability, just make sure you arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled class time and bring cash (preferably) or credit card to pay for your class! No Checks!!

IF YOU DO GET LOCKED OUT OR MISS CLASS...THERE WILL BE A $20.00 RESCHEDULING FEE***!! NO EXCEPTIONS or REFUNDS. (So be sure to arrive on time so we can get your state application filled out, notarized, and get the class underway on time. No one answers the phone that day so don't try to call and say you are running late or you need directions. Just be on time.)
